Believe it or not, we got the inside finished in time for our Friendly Average Campers of Colorado 1st rally over Memorial Day Weekend. It was a mad dash to the finish line, and my beautiful old girl performed flawlessly. (A big shoutout to our member, Sadie Lane, for taking the beautiful picture above).
We took over the Starlite Classic Campground in Canon City, CO. We had 65 attendees and approximately 30 trailers. It was so much fun! There were a few people staying at the campground who were not members of our crazy little club, but I do believe they have since joined ;-). We are a fun bunch, and were happy to include them in the festivities.
We had a live band (thanks to one of our members – thanks Mark W.), a raffle with vintage and new goodies, a fantastic potluck dinner, and loads and loads of fun. I’m very proud of our happy band of misfits. I need to give a big thank you to Sylvia and Larry, owners of the Starlite, for accommodating us and allowing us to host our 1st ever get together at their campground.
I will post pics of the finished Clipper and some random shots from the weekend. We have so many fantastic members with beautiful vintage, and not-so-vintage trailers. First up….The Clipper:
I am happy to report, we had no problems with any of the interior workings of the old girl. We realized that we needed to get better clearance for this trailer – we were scraping the bumper while exiting our alley. In order to achieve this, we took the trailer to our trailer repair place and had them flip the axle. It gives us an additional 4″-5″ of clearance which makes a huge difference.
