Midge’s 1st Tin Can Tourist Rally!

on July 29, 2014

We attended our 1st Tin Can Tourist Rally! It was held July 18th-20th at Mueller State Park in Divide, CO. We had a blast!

There were several adorable campers and the nicest people! Midge was a hit, and it was nice to show her to people that “get it”. You know…..the obsessive and somewhat strange love of vintage campers :).

We brought along the 4 dogs, which seemed like a good idea. We love camping with our dogs. Let’s just say they were a hand full and I don’t think I will take them to a rally again. I didn’t think about how protective they are….and boy, do they like to protect Midge. It was pretty embarrassing and frustrating to give a tour of the camper with the weenies freaking out. Next time, NO DOGS.

I missed getting pictures of a few campers, but believe me….they were all adorable! Here are some pictures:

I am a little bit obsessed with the window awnings on the 1962 Nomad. A-freaking-dorable!!!

The window covers I made for Midge are cute, but they are on the actual glass, and if it rains or gets chilly, we have to close them and leave the covers on or remove them to tightly latch the windows closed. Hmmmmm….thinking, thinking, thinking….how can I make window awnings like the Nomad?? I feel a winter project coming on.

Mueller State Park is amazing. The campsites are wonderfully maintained and large. The site we had was electric only.  We were in Site 52. The door faced a beautiful forest, and it was very private.

This was great fun and we are looking forward to more Tin Can Tourist gatherings.

As usual, here is a night time shot of Midge. I just love how she looks at night!
